Synchronous chip seal is a technique that involves simultaneously spreading chipped aggregate and binder (modified asphalt or modified emulsified asphalt) onto the road surface using a synchronous chip seal vehicle, followed by natural vehicle compaction to form a single-layer asphalt chip seal wearing course. This process is primarily used for newly constructed asphalt pavement surfaces or maintenance overlays of grade II and below, and also provides waterproofing, crack resistance, skid resistance, and stress absorption. Its core advantage lies in the fact that synchronous construction ensures full bonding between the asphalt and aggregate, increasing the contact area and forming a high-strength, impermeable structural layer.
